A Picture Is Worth...

“Photography is a small voice, at best, but sometimes one photograph, or a group of them, can lure our sense of awareness.”

- W. Eugene Smith

Once in a while, one of my college friends will post a photo from a SCAD show on their Facebook profile, and it will start great conversation. The problem is, there are so many great photos from shows at SCAD, but some of us don't have any good copies, and there's not a centralized and organized place to get them. So I started to do something about it...

I'm having tons of fun putting together a repository for SCAD productions. The best part about it is that anyone can upload their photos of the various shows throughout the years. I've got most of 1999 to 2005 listed on the site, but there's a few missing, and I hope to expand it beyond the years that I was (and hopefully will be) there. I've even set up a place to host photos from student shows.

I think if I could go back to 2000 and had the chance to pursue an additional focus in school, I might have at least done a minor in graphic design. With the burst of Web 2.0, and the social-centric focus of websites today, I'm bursting with ideas, but don't really have the proper knowledge of putting together a real interactive site (all of my sites are created WYSIWYG through iWeb, although I've dabbled with RapidWeaver and DreamWeaver). If iWeb would allow true FTP publishing, my life would be a whole lot easier.
